Knitting Up A Storm

I'm alive.  A good familly friend of mine is expecting a baby about a month from now, and upon realizing the shower was two weeks away (it was May 1st) I freaked out, started working on a blanket for her little Elijah, and pretty much have done nothing else.

I'm now less than 10 rows away from finishing, so I thought I'd come up for air and let you all know I am still alive.  I'm going to have to get better at balancing hobbies... I've got a shawl I promised a friend to make, and then I offered to make shawls for myself and the other bridesmaids in my Bestie's wedding.  I've got to make the first one, show it to her for approval, and then if she likes it, make 5 more.  The most challenging part?  I found a pattern I want to follow, and I've never tried to do that before.  I'm much more the free-flowing type of knitter- I just start a project, and at some point I get a sudden flash of what I want the finished result to look like.  I've also seriously been neglecting my camera. :(

Do you have hobbies other than blogging?  How do you find the balance? I tend to get totally absorbed by one activity and forget my other interests for a while.

  1. Lol my answer is that I don't. I pick something that is the most urgent and do that a ton for a while, then move onto something else that wasn't urgent before but because it waited so long it is urgent. It's driving me mad but I've just got a ton of crap to get done.
    Good luck with your blanket!

  2. I love to read so it's easy to incorporate that with blogging. But once I get back into the workforce it will be hard to balance everything. :). You should put up a picture of the blanket when you are done.
