May

Surprise! I'll bet you thought I'd gone away, again.

Well, I did, kind of.

May got a little hectic, and a little depressing.

I finished the blanket for my friend's baby.  She just had him yesterday, and I am dying with impatience for her to get home from the hospital and post a pic.  She and her husband are the kind of gorgeous people that you can't wait to see the perfection they produce when they join their genes.  (I don't know her hubby, so I'm not FB friends with him, so I haven't been able to see the baby pic I know others have seen.)  Anyway, here are a few pictures of the blanket.  The 'E' is for Elijah. :-)
It was hard, but I successfully put the E into the fabric by switching up the stitches.

Top to bottom, it's probably only a foot and a half.

But from side to side, it's at least 3 feet long.  I was worried about this, but I've been reassured that being long is a good thing, and will make it useful for tucking around his legs when he's in a stroller for the next few years.

All folded up, ready to wrap.

My mom's been slacking on putting her gift together and mailing them both, but I'm hopeful Eli will get this before he's 18.

Aside from working on the blanket, I helped my Ohio family have a successful yard sale, held down the fort as they headed off to Niagara Falls for a long weekend/mini-vacation, went home for a quick visit, essentially got let go from the portrait studio (that was the depressing part), and saw the strangest looking moth I've ever seen hanging out by the porch light:

Fuzzy, fat thing, isn't she?

That about sums up what I've done since I last posted.  Insert overused 'hope I'll post more' here.

I hope you are all enjoying the beginning of the summer.

  1. Hey there!
I am enjoying the beginning of summer. Of course, where I live the change of seasons isn't drastic at all, it's always mild. I hope you do find the time to post more! Have a great week...
