I've recently found out that C and I will eventually be making a rather large and significant purchase at the Ohio version of the chain of stores owned by the family of one of my best friends from high school.
A friend whom I loved dearly, but from whom I've drifted apart, having entirely different paths after graduation. A friend who mentioned anytime somebody had a birthday/holiday/special occasion that the "friend discount" would always apply.
So here's the question. Do I go ahead and get into contact with my friend now, when we're probably several months out from actually making the purchase? Or do I just wait until say, the week before we go in to just make a call? Should I just re-friend them on Facebook? The only reason I unfriended them was because C went on one of his sad puppy dog faced rants about how stupid it is and how the whole world doesn't need to know our business. (Hence why I try to keep as many identifiers as possible hidden)
So.... thoughts? I'm currently leaning towards the Facebook route... but... would that be rude? I don't want to become one of those people who only talk to certain people when they need something.
You know, that is a REALLY good question. I honestly wish I knew the right answer (though, I'm guessing so do you, or else why ask, right?)
ReplyDeleteI don't even dare make a suggestion! I wish you all the luck in the world with this one, for real!
yeah re-friend him. he might not have even realized that you un-friended him.
ReplyDeleteBe friends again but don't push too hard to get the discount. You should probably try to make an effort to keep up with this friend in the future too :-)
